Trapiche Ruby & Rose Sapphire Sterling Silver Ring
Fantastic statement ring! This large natural Trapiche Ruby has been frame set in an antiqued, hammered finish 925 sterling silver ring. Design enhanced by a Rose Pink Sapphire which gives this ring that extra sparkle.
The clever design of the ring means that the band can adjust to fit ring sizes Q-Z (UK) or 8¼-12½ (US). Ruby measures 29x19mm. Sapphire measures 7x5mm.
Completely natural - the ruby gemstone has not been colour enhanced, glass filled, heat treated or modified in any way other than being buffed to a sheen. Comes presented in a Two Skies gift box with 'Rubies & Sapphires' pamphlet, ready for gifting.
Extremely rare, this material originates from a newly discovered mine in Southern India, but the supply is limited and when its gone, it’s gone! These pieces are from Adam’s friend Ashok’s private collection. Similar to a star ruby, this gem displays a 6-sectioned ray effect: Trapiche is the Spanish word for a spoked wheel. However, in star rubies the rays glide over the surface of the stone according to the light, whereas in a trapiche ruby the pattern is fixed and visible all the time.
