From Adam's private collection. Discovered around the village of Rodel, on Harris; Lewis & Harris in the Scottish Outer Hebrides. Though there are no snakes on Harris & Lewis, the name 'serpentine' is thought to come from the similarity of the colour of the rock with UK native snakes (adders); earthy greens and browns.
