Moldavite & Herkimer Diamond, 18ct Gold & Sterling Silver Ring
Out of this world! Unique and genuine Moldavite droplet set in an 18ct gold collet, on a 925 sterling silver adjustable ring featuring a companion Herkimer Diamond.
Ring is best worn at size Q (UK scale) or 8¼ (US scale), but has scope to size up or down by a size or two, without compromising the design concept too much. Herkimer measures roughly 7x5mm and Moldavite is approximately 6x6mm. Band is 2.5mm wide at narrowest point.
Comes with colourful story cards, and a tartan gift pouch, in letterbox friendly packaging.

RESIZING ADJUSTABLE RINGS
It is quite easy to change the size of the ring yourself as long as you go slowly and are careful, manipulating the inner area of the band with warm fingers, rather than pulling at the end sections – this will help keep a round shape too. This ring will span quite a few sizes without compromising the original design concept. Once set, it is advisable not to resize again, as silver is quite soft and can become brittle and snap if bent too frequently.
Moldavites are an amazing type of natural glass, formed by the heat and impact of a meteorite landing on Earth 15 million years ago. Glass formations like this ('tektites') have been discovered across the globe, but moldavites are unique in their olive-green colouring and can only be found in a small area surrounding the river Moldau in The Czech Republic/Germany. Treasured for centuries by various cultures, it has been used for many purposes - from arrowheads to lucky talismans. Gram-for-gram, Moldavite is rarer than a diamond, as only 50 tonnes were ever formed on earth (compared to over 26 tonnes of diamond produced PER YEAR!) Without a doubt very rare and precious, moldavites are also thought to hold extremely powerful metaphysical energies and are associated with the holy grail.
