Ammonite & Venus Hair Quartz Sterling Silver Pendant
You will receive the unique fossil pendant pictured. Set in sterling silver, with a hammered antiqued finish. Beautiful companion Rutilated Quartz (aka Venus Hair Quartz) set into the crown of the frame.
Measuring roughly 32x18x4mm including a rear facing bail, it allows you to carry a wee piece of history with you and makes for an eyecatching piece. Ammonite measures approximately 20x15mm; Quartz 8x6mm. Comes with a complimentary matching 18" antique silver plated chain and Two Skies gift box, in letterbox friendly packaging.
Please note that depending on the light, the surface of the natural fossil shows some light scratch marks, which have been exaggerated by the camera lens. These types of marks are perfectly normal and has been reflected in the price - see close up photo for details.
Roaming the oceans as far back as 200 million years ago, these squid-like sea creatures are fossilised relatives of the chambered nautilus shell. The name "ammonite" was inspired by the spiral shape of the fossilised shells, which somewhat resemble tightly coiled rams' horns. It is thought the name derived from the Greek God Ammon, who is typically depicted wearing rams horns.
